Why are they important?
Our scientific expeditions are crucial for gathering the data needed to understand the ocean, which covers more than 70% of the Earth's surface and holds 94% of the world's wildlife. Yet, only 5% of it has been explored; the rest remains unknown.

How do we work?
→ Planning and Preparation: Each expedition begins with thorough planning, defining clear objectives and methodologies to ensure that every venture contributes valuable data to our conservation goals.
→ Fieldwork Execution: The core of our efforts lies in the fieldwork, where scientists and PEM’s team explore, collect samples, and assess ecosystem health, among other activities tailored to the needs of each expedition. This direct engagement with the marine environment is essential for gathering accurate, real-time data.
→ Post-Expedition Analysis: After each expedition, our team analyzes the collected data to draw conclusions, develop strategies for ongoing and future conservation efforts, and design monitoring initiatives. In line with our commitment to science and conservation, we aim to transform the scientific evidence obtained from our campaigns and collaborations with other scientific institutions into effective conservation programs and sustainable development policies. This ongoing cycle of research and application is vital for adaptive management and long-term environmental stewardship, ensuring that our efforts are both informed and impactful.
